HECKLED BY HAZE
Smoke gets in my eyes
i inhale more into my lungs
i smell smoke
i can't see past the smoke 'screen'
Neither i nor many others
want to leave our homes
But need arises...we cannot avoid
Along with me
so many are angry
Putting up with unhealthy air
Fearful...
for children,the elderly and the infirm
in our care
Not taking responsibility
Blaming nature
No proactive measures
but careless nonchalance
How can we not be
hot and bothered?
of a neighbour like this?
So much pressure
from every corner...
Still deafening silence is what we hear
Smoke is what we continue to breathe in
