Mayhem At Member's Day Sales

i went to a member's day sales at a shopping mall the other day and the supermarket section was in complete mayhem. i wanted to run towards the exit and get the hell out of there. My head was spinning and i felt suffocated. i cannot be in crowded places. My first reaction is to flee-fast but i had a list of grocery items to purchase and for card members, the prices on member's day are a bargain.

i stood at the entrance for a few minutes pondering if i should brave the crowd when my feet decided for me as i walked over, took a shopping cart and went in. That's when it started- full swing!, the mad rush for certain items with very, very low prices. The ugly attitude of a particular group of people and what was most shocking?. They were all grey haired seniors in their sixties and seventies!. What they did?. They elbowed, pushed and shoved everyone in their path just to grab what they wanted.

There was total disregard to whether they stepped on toes or jumped queues - there were no excuse me or apologies heard. You can stop and stare down, shout and scold even, mumble and grumble - Some shoppers did this but it fell on deaf ears. This group are so thick skinned that nothing halts them from carrying on what they came for;which was to grab what they could and mostly clearing shelves of products!.If it means scolding staff and cashiers, screaming at other shoppers to get out of their way, scrambling for as many discounted items, then it's done.

There was no caring if others wanted the sales items too. No consideration that others have to pay and be on their way as well. Nope. This group of people are motivated by greed and a mindset of always being the first, getting the best...All the time. So, at sales like this, they want to be the first in to grab the best and most slashed down priced items- as many as their carts can contain and finally to clear the check out counters first to be on their way out...First!.

i was so sickened and all the joys of shopping went out in a whoosh.i just wanted to pick and pay for the items on my list and get out of the mayhem quickly. Most importantly, to get away from such people!. What kind of message are these grey haired seniors sending out to youths today?. Worst, what are they teaching their own children and grandchildren?. And seniors are supposed to be leading by example?- Highly questionable!
